Many (+/- 65000) iron crosses 1st class are reached out post war, how can someone say it makes it an 'non original' that is just ridiculous. Nice piece!

The Fact that the hardware is wrong, a total reverse of the type found on original crosses.
The screw and bolt are reversed on this cross, in the Eastern European style, IE fake.
The cross front frame and core are made by Godet. this can be confirmed by matching
the frame beading and core details against maker marked Godet crosses.
Original Godet 1914 screwbacks all had a anti-rotation pin attached to the backplate of
the cross on the 12 o'clock arm. Also, the screwposts used on Godet crosses all had a
large pedestal reinforcement where the post mounted to the cross. This cross has neither
of those features. That plus the awful attempt at aging the parts lead me (and others
that I took the liberty of sending pictures to) to believe that this cross started out as an
original 2nd class cross that someone has tried to upgrade.
Below is a perfect example of what a Godet screwback should look like.
of those features.
