Hello,
Im pretty sure this tag is real... Have you guys ever seen this type of prestamping of the unit before???? In this case "I.R. 21" it Looks not handstamped but somehow premade...





Im really curios to know what you guys know about this practice, everything helps.

This is typical of an early Infanterie Regiment pre formed ekm. In this case to the 1st Kompanie of Infanterie Regiment 21 of the 21st Infanterie Division. The unit saw action in Poland, The Low Countries before heading east. The condition makes me wonder if the owner had perhaps hung onto it after being wounded and surviving? It looks good to me.

Thanks, ok yes thats what i thought too that he must have kept it after it stopped or slowed down a shrapnel.
