Russo Japanese Officer Dog Tag

Hello again,
I picked up this dog tag from a leutenant who served in the 24th infatry regiment during the Russo Japanese War... But i am not able to find any Information in english of what the 24th infantry regiment did in that war... It also came with multiple page photocopies of the officer registry of said unit, i already have that all translated in english (2nd photo).

So my questions:
Question 1: what did the 24th infantry regiment do during the russo japanese war?
Question 2: i noticed one character on the tag is overstamped, maybe when he was promoted to first leutenant?

[Nick Komiya]

They entered the Russo-Japanese War as a component of the first Army, departing on 5th Feb 1904, landing at Incheon and arriving Seoul on the 8th,
1905 March participation in the Battle of Mukden, garrisoned at Tieling, 12th December triumphant return to Fukuoka.

The over-stamp was for the promotion from 2nd Lt to 1st Lt.
