    Hello,

My grandmother had 4 brothers and they all fought for the Wehrmacht. She kept telling me the story about her brother Wilhelm Hekers, a JU-88 pilot who was shot down over England.

Today I searched his name on Google and found it immediately. I couldn't believe it when I found a discussion from the user russg about him here on the forum and that he was mentioned in the book Battle over Britain Then and Now. Everything is just right, his date of birth, his place of birth. I'm going to tell my 96 year old grandma tomorrow.

Help with interpreting the notes in a Flugbuch to a Battle of Britain casualty

    Thank you very much

    Hello Michel,

Thank you very much for posting this on the thread and I will look forward to reading your grandmothers' response/reaction.

Judging by his awards Wilhelm was a very brave man!!

    Regards,

    Thanks for the welcome,

my grandma was very happy. The officials of the Wehrmacht told my great-grandmother at the time that Wilhelm's plane was shot down over London and then landed in a ditch in the descent over France.

She is very interested in how you got his documents russg.

    Regards,
    Michel
