Complete Meldetasche from a Luftwaffe Hauptfeldwebel

Here's something document collectors seldom get to see, a Meldetasche from "Der Spieß" complete down to a full company roster tucked into the back pocket. Though "Tasche" makes it sound like a pouch and many do translate it as a reporting pouch, it is actually a hardcover notebook encased in a wrap-around leather cover. I am still amazed that they only tucked it in between uniform buttons to carry around, as it is pretty hefty and could easily fall out.

I'm also amazed that they would carry something as thick as this in such a precarious position. Interesting find!
