A very nice group Stewy!
Quite a bit of documentation for one person still together.
Congrats!

Indeed Glenn, hopefully someone can or would be kind enough to. Batterie 765 was armed with two 28cm K5 (E) guns with a range of 69-ish kilometres. Deployed around Coquelles/Calais area. Stewy

Brrr... dread shorthand.
Had to learn that in school for four torturous years and hated every single minute of it. Having no ambitions whatsoever at becoming a court stenographer or male typist, my 16-year-old self made a solemn vow to himself to never write a single word in those bloody hieroglyphs again as soon as the final year of school was over and to completely unlearn and forget all about it as quickly as possible.
Kept that vow, too.
Rant over.
Congratulations on a very nice grouping!

Seeing it reminded me instantly of my 5th & 6th Grade Teacher when I went to German School, Johann Diehlmann...He was a Wehrmacht Veteran and would use Kurzschrift in his grade-book...
cheers, Glenn

I take it there's no chance of you teaching me how to read it then. Stewy

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
