Re: Help Needed on Soldbuch
Image 2 shows such things as the Soldbuch issue serial number, blood group and dogtag number. Image 2 is personal details (top half) and when the SB was opened & by what unit (bottom). Image 3 is his pay group. Image 4 are his units, those in Section C being the Regular units with those in Sections B & D being the training and replacement units. On the opposite page are his family details. And the last image is a kit issue.
The sites linked here https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/soldb...uments-159156/ will help showing what the various parts are.

Re: Help Needed on Soldbuch
Thanks Everyone!! I've quite a few more documents I could use translated and people could use for reference. I just haven't had the time as of late to get things scanned. Where does it say in his Soldbuch that he was a KIA in 42'

Re: Help Needed on Soldbuch
Also, could you send me a link to the info you found about Josef? I tried to look it up myself but the website wasn't working well for me. Thanks! Cody

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

It doesn't. Usually the soldiers fate isn't entered in the Soldbuch. That sort of information is usually entered into his Wehrpass.
As far as the information, this is the Volksbund Website that contains the database. You have to register to use it but if you have zero knowledge of German than you may well struggle doing so...
http://www.volksbund.de/graebersuche.html
And this is the Lexikon site (you'll need to use a Google translator to read the entries)... http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...rzeichnis1.htm
