Here are two examples of one of the reproduction SS Ausweis passes, that are currently available. These two pieces are contrasting, in that one is almost new in appearance, whilst the other is worn and dirty. However, both are bad. One only needs to look at the photograph! Without even beginning to research SS references for names, ranks and numbers, these pieces can be rejected by a quick look at the ringlets that are present. They are made from the same cheap, dull grey metal that is used to produce many Polish made fake awards. Original paperwork items never have this finish on the ringlets, and usually display some level of discolouration.

these passes have migrated from ebay and are now to be found on major dealers sites in us and germany . if any of the self appointed experts are called on them its the usual excuse ie i got stuck with it and its a honest mistake ....pavel

Another reproduction piece. This example, although similar in some ways to the correct format for an SS-Aufseherin's identity card, is also a replica.

When one starts to see these reproduction pieces, the similarity in the artificially dirtied areas is quite striking. Often, the very edges near the photographs are ignored. The pattern of the grime also appears quite consistent...perhaps made by the same hand weilding an oily rag or dirty sock...

Homework should also be done with items such as these, as with every purchase...

The woman whose name is present on the card, did not serve as an Aufseherin at fr.KL-Ravensbruck. In fact, the name Radtke does exist in Aufseherin records, but that was Lotte Johanna Radtke, who served at KL-Neuengamme.

Uniform irregularities are also common on the reproduction Aufseherin cards, again here, that is the case.
