    Default SS Company Commander Soldbuch

Here is a rather interesting Soldbuch. The cover was replaced obviously. This officer was captured by US Forces and was held in Stalag XIIID Nürnberg Langwasser . Note that his book was examined and stamped by the CIC ( Counter Intelligence Corps).

He was a career Police Officer, and even though this is a standard W-SS Soldbuch and his Soldbuch photo shows him in regular W-SS uniform his rank is shown as Hauptmann der Schutzpolizei.

Kit issue entries from SS-Feldgendarmerie Komp 17. The Feldpost numbers for the first two entries relate to the SS-PzKorps.

I have maybe 50 or so Feldgendarmerie Soldbücher, and most commonly they will have only low level awards and rarely any combat badges - where they do, they were usually earned in a previous branch of service before becoming an MP. Feldgendarmerie Soldbücher with much more than a KVK2 oe EK2 are rare.

This one is exceptional in that he won the EK2, EK1 and Infantry Assault Badge as a Feldgendarm, all during combat against US forces.

Although the cover of the Soldbuch was replaced I was able to get a copy of the photo that had once been in it.

I got it from Lösel himself. Had correspondence with him for a few years before he passed away. Got a few photos from him and quite a lot of info about his time in GvB.

I also have his SS Driving Licence, his Polizei Dienstpass, a police Ausweis when he was a plain clothes officer with the Kripo and tons of other documents.
