    Probably new police reenforcement, until they got other buckels, but that part got lost in time...

    Yes, the polizei continued on in May '45....the Allies still needed the local police detachements! They de-nazi'd the buckles and used them for a bit (not sure how long).
    These buckles are not worth a lot of money - but they are part of the German experience of ww2. I also have a de-nazi'd polizei buckle as it's just as much a part of Germany's history as any other buckle!

    Great thread, these buckles are really interesting. Correct me If I'm wrong but I think I spotted a looted German buckle, denazified, actually being worn in wartime
