An interesting story has been revealed by research.
The original owner was Konstantin Grigoryevich Maslov (1905-1943) from Makeyevka in Eastern Ukraine, private with the 14th Rifle division, Karelian front. He has died of his wounds 05/04/1943 in Arkhangelsk military hospital.
The item then has passed over to Ivan Vasilyevich Perveyev, 1907, from Volkhov near Leningrad, private with the 14th Rifle division.
14th Rifle division has been fighting near Murmansk, on Kolski Peninsula from June 1941 through October 1944. There has been a section where the German's 'Norway' Mountain Corps had never crossed USSR state border due to a harsh resistance.
Private Perveyev has survived the war, ending up in Shtralzund, Germany in 1945. He was awarded The Medal of Valour.
