Just read in my trusty book that RZM 155/40 is by Assman but this number is also used for many current fake steel buckles and should therefore be regarded with suspicion... apparently very common in the US around 1998. Prior to 1997 the code 155 was very scarce on steel buckles but now forms the bulk of all SS steel buckles.... mmmmmm... say no more! Cheers, Hansi
... and as a footnote and another nail in the coffin... it would seem that most genuine RZM 155 marks are to be found under the roller bar... not all but most, whereas fake markings can be found at both ends. And one last obvious sign... the rope between the wing and head of the eagle is missing... see the thread on SS fake buckles for more tell-tale signs... cheers, Hansi
Hi George, it is a copy.
Here is an original 155/40 marked at the catch end from my collection. I have shown it on the forum in the past.
Note on the fake: lack of rope behind eagles head and the chest feathers which almost looks like a shield.
Cheers, Ade.
Both buckle and belt are indeed a copy
