Original in my opinion Regaerds ,Paul
It looks perfectly correct to my eyes - the logo is the correct size ( the copies are larger ) and the large size of the top pin head holding the prongs in place is exactly what you would want to see. Its quite rusted but not in a artifical way as it’s even all over the buckle. I have attached a picture of different eagle heads I have been working on which may help you as the difference is quite interesting. All from certified original buckles. The O&C example in my attached picture is from the early full logo nickel buckle and the assman a 155/43. I need to improve the labelling. Michael
Thank you for your precise answer Mickael. The logo size and the big top pin are good signs of authenticity indeed. But I was a bit worry because I heard about fake ground found RODO buckles sold in the USA. So this rusty one could have been one of them. Great and very usefull job that you did with these eagle's heads! The exact same scale size of the 4 pics help a lot to compare each one.
I mean compare to this one for exemple :
I see what you mean. However, these were hand made so a little flexibility on placement is I think only to be expected, possibly more important that yours shows exactly the same shape to other originals. Thankfully we have other very experienced members to help us further with your buckle.
Best regards Michael
