Here is an interesting SS buckle. Unfortunately, it has been de-nazified. The reverse is unmarked and still has much residue of an early laquered belt, stuck to the aluminum.

Hi Bob, that is an interesting buckle. Is it a prototype design or a very limited production run?
Cheers, Ade.
Ade,
I have seen another indentical buckle, also de-nazified, and have seen photos of one mint example and one ground-dug, in Russia.
I believe they were an Assmann pattern that may not have reached approved status and somehow were distributed, in some small quantity.

It looks like this guy was a die hard, under wraps??
Hi Bob, what a buckle, Assmann prototype, very rare indeed, good find my friend
Ben
Bob,
Excellent example of the prototype buckle, even if de-nazified. I have seen only one other, very mint unissued with tags, and if I receive permission from the owner I will post the picture.
