Have you got a square on picture of the front of the nickel buckle? Normally the catch solder is coloured gold and not silver on these buckles?

Ben, I will prepare better photos - I didnt think about catch solder color, it has no signs of repairs -

it seems my first post here must be referred to SS buckles

The SS buckle by O & C is not by nickel, but by brass nickeled : that's the reason of the soldering apparently silvered, the true color of the soldering is under the nickel/silver finishing.
