Second Opinion of SS Buckle

Good day all!

This is my first post.

I have a Nazi SS NCO buckle that was my father-in-laws brought back from Germany after the war. I have been told it is a very early and rare "Hammerhead."

I am looking for a second opinion on the buckle as to it's originality and value.

I have never seen a good SS buckle with this type of head. Beak wrong, mouth wrong. No rope between wings and head. Wreath held by eagle to big. Do not like the swastika.
I really do not think this is an original.

Firstly hello Shadeaux and welcome to the forum and boy what an opening, a very rare "Hammerhead" SS buckle. Alot of guys would say that this is a fake because it is that rare not many people will have seen one and features that people recognise as original v fake, well this buckle goes against it lol. As to value well what do you want to pay for it? I believe prices nowadays are crazy and I would only buy a buckle if it was worth it to me. As an example I bought a real tatty old Heer buckle that you would not take a second look at, however it was a very rare maker marked buckle an I paid $200 for it, where normally it would have been $70-90. If the buckle is $2000 and you have the money and it worth it for your collection then go of it As to the maker I do not know (would love to) if JP reads this he may know. Do you mind if I use the pics and put the buckle in the SS makers thread?
