shiny steel SS buckle - real?

I have seen this one for sale with belt. The makers markings are found on examples in the fake ss pinned thread and in the ss makers thread. Not sure how to tell if real or not. Any help?

Does it look like this buckle may have been chromed?

thats what i was thinking, but i cant make any comment further than that.

I dont like it, but could be the chrome covering making the details look off. The lack of the wreath, and all the minute details arent right IMO. I dont know crap about buckles, so it could just be the chroming that messed with the details. Assman is the maker of the 155/43 if u can find any to compare to

Jo, looks to me like a genuine 155/40 that has been chromed. Whether the chrome was done period or post war I do not knpw

Yes thanks. I looked at both threads and I did see that the manufacturer markings appeared legitimate but the details of the eagle did not look right.

were buckles chromed by the germans?
