    Default SS Buckle question

Here is a link to a german auction house with a picture and brief description of a supposed SS buckle and belt. I would like your opinions as to if it looks legit, what it's worth, etc. I have a chance to trade an item for it and I paid 30$ for the item he wants. Is it worth 30 bucks? It looks like it may have been denazified so does that errase all the value?
Thanks in advance for your help!

    hey Cannonman17,
one would need some better and closer pictures of that belt and buckle.
I only do denazified and dug up's, they are lesser in value. But it is a good and cheapper way to learn and to see what an original should look like, however a lot are messed with as well.
    Here are mine.

The belt looks like a modified EM belt, as regards to the buckle better pics would be needed, especially of the rear

Even so, it would start serious alarm bells ringing, unless the guy has absolutely no idea what he has got (which is highly unlikely) a real one would sell for over 1000, so why chance your arm on an auction?
The trouble with auctions is that you have no comebacks (at that price) personally i don't think in this day and age that there are any bargains out there, and if there is It's usually wrong, The eternal Pessimist me

You are right, the chance on a bargain in militaria is very small.

Yes, it's starting price is 80 Euros.. I thought the low starting price would be due to the swastika being taken off the front.. of course I don't know anything about this field yet either! I know that this auction house IS NOT a militaria specialist place, they sell mostly art, furniture, etc...
For converstion sake, lets say it is the real deal ( I emailed him today to get better pictures) what would it be worth in it's denazified conditon?
