Here are chain links from 1936 SS dagger chain, it has SS approve mark but it's off from the center makes me suspicious, is this normal to see SS mark off center?
Thank you
Ado

Could you post a up close picture of the skull? Oh,if they are original i would be interested as my scabbard is missing these..thanks and happy holidays
Hi Ado, this is not unusual as far as I know or have observed. From these blurry photos, I would certainly pass on these. They should be sharply die struck. These links come in three types.
Cheers, Ade.
I´m not an expert in SS-dagger´s but this mark also stamped by hand and I saw such marks, off the center.
The pics are really poor indeed ...
Thank you Ade and Reibert, sorry but these are the only pics i got, i do not own the chain links, i hope $100 is not too much for them?

Hi Ado, I am pleased you don't own them. Never buy anything from bad pics.
As Reibert says, the proof mark was hand stamped so the position can vary a bit. Just never seen one quite that far off center before. The proof mark also comes in two slightly different styles two.
Cheers, Ade.
Thanks Ade, off center that much is what made me wonder!
Hi Ado, I have shown my two chained SS daggers on the forum in the past which feature the two different type of proof mark.
Also see Paul's site here for some great examples:

Cheers, Ade.
