Boker SS....My first SS Dienstdolch

Hey gang....it had to happen sooner or later!
I just acquired my fist SS dagger....It's a nice first representative piece. It's not mint by any means....but I think it's in pretty good shape. Only issue are the scabbard (paint loss) and a few nicks on the edge of the blade....

But - all that said: I'm very pleased. The etch is super nice and I wanted a solid grip. I know true blue dagger collectors always go for the blade - but that's my thing...if the grip wasn't good...I'd be turned off.

Anyways....it's a Boker made piece and I do have some questions...yes: I'm that much of a noob when it comes to these SS daggers.

It's made by Boker...did Boker only make SS blades? I don't recall seeing other branches represented by this maker.
Also the "I" on the crossguard: what does that mean/represent?

Opinions on this one and comments are welcome. I need to learn!

Cool! So that answers my question about Boker making other blades. I just thought they were synonimous with SS daggers for some reason! Glad you like it!

Hi Rob, A great looking dagger, nice sharp etch to the motto; looks like it may have had a vertical hanger at one time by the wear on the scabbard. Hal

Ty: yeah man - they aren't giving these away nowadays...it was pricey - but worth it considering I've been collecting for 27 years and never owned one....It was time!

Hal! Glad you like it man! I too love the dark etch!! Vertical hanger: that really does make sense .... I never tought of that - but it certainly looks that way doesn't it! Good call!

fÉLICITATION ROB! un autre point , le SSrune il existe deux pattern , tu as le grand , et il ya le petit ( les lettre SS plus petite dans le cercle ) et l aigle aussi il existe plusieur pattern ....
