Re: Carl eickhorn ss dagger question and help
Hi, its a standard municipal police service bayonet, the blade has been reduced in size, if you look you can see the blood groove carries on thrugh the tip of the blade, they are not a rare dagger but still a nice dagger to own, the numbers on the crossguard are the unit numbers, hope this help's,
cheers Ronnie

Hi, glad you have posted the pics.
Nice Police side arm.
The silver brocade dress belt is for a Police Officer. It would not carry the sidearm on it.
Cheers, Ade.

This was brought back by my grandfather and was taken just like it looks not sure weather it makes any difference or not also someone said that it had been cut down is this somthing that the German police would have done as it was not done here. On a different note is a k98 bayonet marked puma true war time bayonet thanks.

Re: Carl eickhorn ss dagger question and help
Hi, Vets obtained stuff and placed things together, this is quite usual to find. But it would not have been worn this way.
Yes, the bayonet was period shortened by the Germans.
Please show the K98 bayonet.
Cheers, Ade.
