Gailen told me the portepee does not come on this model dagger, but rules were broken and it could have been put on during the period. It was that or post war, with way I'm just gonna go with it.
I also contact Ross with this number, and at the moment he does not have any information in the serial number.
I will lost photos of the blade later tonight when I get off work! Thanks for all the kind comments!

Good looking piece for your collection. Regarding the knot- EVERYTHING was possible. So leave it where it is, it does not eat anything, or ruin the dagger in any way.
