    Hi all,

I came across this ss dagger, owned by the son of the veteran who brought it back, and would like some opinions. I know the photos aren't great, the seller is an older gentleman with limited photographic experience, but should be enough to show tell tale signs of a reproduction. I'm 99.9% certain it is a good one; maker's mark placement checks out, tight grip to cross guard fit, lower guard is marked, etc.

    Thoughts??

It would be nice to see it the right way around in the scabbard...

The scabbard condition is the biggest concern here. Other than that, looks OK.

    Cheers, Ade.

From the photos, it's difficult to tell, but it looks to be a good piece. It could certainly do with a soft wipe down, but other than that, it looks okey. Better photos are needed, though, of course, to be 100% sure.

Thanks guys. I should have it in a couple of days. I'm hoping the blade is just dirty so it shines up nicely.

The 120/34 has always been a favourite of mine. Early quality throughout even though designated RZM.

Renaissance (Ren) Wax works well for cleaning up a blade and soiled fittings. Will clean yet not affect patina and provides a protective coating when done. If you use some be aware that a little bit goes a long way and don't rub it hard into the motto.
