It would be interesting to see what a restorer could do with this dagger - I recall the recentish thread on here showing a German sword restored to fine order. Although I like patina, this is something which looks like it has endured sustained abuse and deserves better. Leaving it like this would be akin to leaving a Vincent or Velocette motorcycle in a vandalised condition. Pity about the engraving on the blade, nothing can ever bring that back, well at least not the original engraving.
