I have the oppurtunity to exchange a few daggers for this Early M33 dagger made by R.Klaas
it's a Rohm dagger tho its completely removed.
Pictures are not good i know but its all that i can get.
Scabbard is dent free and anodised.
    blade is not photographed decently.
What would be the exchange worth of this dagger?
    Please give me your thoughts

I don't like the SS runes grip insignia at all.

    Cheers, Ade.

The runes are not Klass runes. I believe them to be "not right" and the dagger a Czech "wanna be"

At best, a put together, with some original parts

    Thx Ade & John

i've seen a lot of early Klaas grips on the net, and most of them had different runes. (long small ones, instead of thick short ones like this is)
also the eagle had a completely diffent look, but yeah a few on the net had similar runes and eagles that came close to this one.
That why i asked for your help.

I will pass on this one, thx for your expertise and fast reply, its highly appreciated

    Cheers,
    Ger

Am I wrong to say that there is to much separation between the grip and handle ( am not sure what you call it)

im my humble opinion the button does appear replaced, however the eagle looks original and no sign of any tampering, the gapson the handle could well be shrinkage over time and thus not a parts dagger, can you show full on picture of the rune button,i personally dont see too much wrong, no disrespect to the gents who have commented, george w

Shrinkage is the word you are looking for. Dependant on the type of wood used and how the dagger was stored for the past 70 odd years, this can legitimately happen.

However, let us look at this one in question? The wood to crossguard fit would be near enough a perfect fit on an early pre RZM dagger like this purports to be. Take another look at the photo which I have highlighted. This grip was never a correct fit. Shrinkage is an equal thing, and any gap created would not leave a bigger distance at the top compared with the bottom. This is just a lousy fit. The angles are just wrong.

Note also the repair to the grip just right of my circled area.

    Cheers, Ade.

I saw this old thread and I must say that these runes are exactly the correct runes that were used by Robert Klaas...
Nothing wrong with this Full Röhm grounded SS dagger imo!!!
