    Hi Frogprince,
just a quick reply as have to bolt, will post some more photos under different light when I get a chance, just took a magnet to dagger for first time, chain is NOT magnetic ,(thus solid nickel/silver chain pre 1938 or cheap base metal post 1937- GeeWiz depends on what reference I read ??) and the WOTAN knot IS magnetic, remember this dagger was hanging up on a wall from 1945 to 1960 as per Vet story and would have been much handeled by visitors, and probably dropped,
    input much appreciated
    Mark

Hello Mark, I have had lighting problems myself for many years. Ranging form both taking pictures where I knew while I was taking them that the camera was distorting the color values, to looking at images taken by others on the web. And glare which can sometimes conceal more than it reveals, which is sometimes compounded by a lack of focus. So this is not intended as a criticism because some of the pictures were of benefit, but not all of them. That said, so far I have not seen enough as yet to cause me to want to disregard what seems to be in the first set of images. Best regards, Fred
