SS Number and Initials on M36 Chained SS Dagger
Hello Gentlemen,
Has anyone seen an SS Chained Dagger with the SS number engraved...or stamped...on the tang nut. The SS number is 1232 and the initials are "WT" in a script. I haven't seen this dagger as of yet but will be making arrangements to see it next week. I'll take photos and post next week.

Thanks Leon. Understandable about the photos. I'll post photos sometime next week once I get them. I'm interested in buying this dagger but I want to feel secure that it is authentic.

Re: SS Number and Initials on M36 Chained SS Dagger
Hi Ed, that is a very unusual placement. But the shortlived order to mark daggers did not specify where and how this had to be done.
Sounds interesting.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: SS Number and Initials on M36 Chained SS Dagger
Not to mention also, that the occasional SS man would mark his Own dagger. The number you quoted "1232" is quite low and the owner likely was a Gold Party Badge wearer and is well worth having research done on it. The number Could correspond to "Someone".
