The guy trying to sell me it says it has no markings on the blade. The tip of the blade is broken as well. If it is real, what is a fair price? Thanks, Keith

I wouldn't walk, I'd run
That says fake all over it , sorry
The overall lack of quality condems it. Try and find some photos of known originals and you will then see the difference.
Cheers, Ade.
Thanks! I knew you guys would know.
Hi Hattonchase
Not an original period item...

I agree with my colleagues. A very poor attempt at copying a SS sword. The lack of sharp detail reminds me of the fake Japanese swords coming out of China.

LIFE'S LOSERS NEVER LEARN FROM THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS.
The pommel cap should have SS runes on it and the jerk that put the SS insignia on the handle is a piss poor craftsman.
it upsets me somewhat that a nieive colllector will pay over a thousand pounds for this, and beleive its good . the detail tells all, but thats cos we all see these every week
And the worst ones are the ones that take a good police sword, and turn it into an SS sword and try to triple its value. The metal, handle blade scabbard fittings are soooooooooo very cheaply put together on this it makes me weep
I think by comparing this to the cheap Chinese katana's put them in a good league. I wouldn't rate it that high even
Welcome back you old bugger
they dig the police out of the handle and do a bad job!
