that camo takes me back to my childhood ,in school we use to slice a potato in half to make potato stamps then dip in different coloured paints ,just my thoughts
because of the crap pictures, I wouldn't be too quick to write this one off. In hand it may look a whole lot different . The camouflage scheme may look odd now (if it is original), but when it was freshly done - it might just have been some soldier's attempt at copying pea camouflage. As for SS... But who can tell (given the pictures)?
Books published to date... 'Belfast Diaries: A Gunner In Northern Ireland'... 'A Tough Nut To Crack - Andersonstown'... 'An Accrington Pal: The Diaries of Pte Jack Smallshaw, September 1914 To March 1919'.
Cant tell much from those pictures thats for sure.
Liner is definitely a postwar addition.
Fake aging on the liner - not a good sign. If you are near Allentown, PA I suggest going to the AG Hall Forks show to see some helmets up close. NH
