Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
Altogether Outstanding
Holy crap did you have to hold a gun to Mikes head to get you that? It took 2 years for me to get info.
That said when he comes through its super stuff.
I should meet this guy! Can he research any SS serviceman's records? I would love to get more info on the SS-Sturmmann from the 6. SS from the death notice I have.
Hi Mo, here is a link to Mike's site:
WESTMORELAND RESEARCH
He did the research on my SS M1933 dagger.
Mike is very good, but, of course, he can only find info if the records still exist. Officers records generally survive. But NCO's records are far from complete and it can be very hit and miss with regards to finding anything.
You also have to weigh the cost of research, which is very time consuming, and so costly, against the potential value of the item connected to the man.
Cheers, Ade.
I would highly recommend Dieter Stenger of Stenger Historica. He is much faster and gets his records to you without fail. I have waited for years for info Mike has said was "in the mail" and never received it.
Well done scrooge. A very nice find
Looking for the photo albums of Leutnant Emil Freitag, 3. / G.R. 377
Absolutely magnificent mate, I can only dream.
