Here we have for sale what is genuinely believed to be an original German NAZI SS Helmet.

This helmet was advertised on here previously as a M35, but after taking to a specialist in Portabello Market it has been pointed out that it is in fact a very very rare SS Helmet. As you can see from the pictures it has seen action. But is still in remarkable conditions all things considered.

The Helmet belonged to my Grandad who served in WWII and after many years of hanging on to it feel being stored in a box in the loft isn't relly doing it justice. I understand that he served in the Rhinelands at the end of the war and as a peace keeper with the Irish guards there after.

I have taken a picture of the leather cradle inside which shows what I believe to be a black printed ink mark with the numbers 56 written.

As you can see from the pictures there were two decals on either side of the helmet however these have whethered off over the years.

There are not serial numbers marks etc, I am told SS Helmets did not have these as they were so few in comparison.
