I would say.....round bottomed fake, also the runes seem to extend below the break of the shield....so IMO that's 2 possible red flags

A Q M42 is VERY late War, and always a no decal. Plus, Q helmets always have Q runic decals (unless the decal was field applied, in which case the decal was almost always a Pocher) - strike 2, plus this decal is a repro - strike 3 - you'rrrrre out!

On the other hand, a Q M42 is in and of itself a rare piece, one that has eluded me for 50 years! At the right price I would buy it, even with the fake runic shield. Jim G.

Appears to be a bad one, but wish you had close-ups of the decal. Would like to see the construction on this one. Would love to study it, especially in this state.

A good helmet with a fake decal as already said. If you look closely at the top edge of the left rune,you can see it is not even straight. Such a shame someone has tampered with this helmet!! Leon.
