I was thinking it looked like a bad round bottom with the silver flake appearance. Thanks for confirming that I had seen this before. Guess I'm not going crazy!

Definite fake, 'first pattern' on a '42 and it's not an EF / reissue = pass in 5 seconds

Hi,i have only just seen this as i am on holiday in ROME,but i feel that the chaps are spot on in identifying this as a round bottom fake. These ones really can trip people up if the "point" of the shield has been"worn"(ho ho ho)away.Not a funny scenerio at all as it happens.I will say though,that who ever the faker is went to great effort to match the decal up with the wear of the helmet!
