Holger Danske Helmet surprise!!!

Back a couple of weeks ago I bought a relic M40 from a seller on ( shudder ) EBay.
This was the post and subsequent info that surfaced ( thanks again SCOUT )

Well it arrived this morning! When I unpacked it this is what I saw ....Bloody hell!!
No wonder the seller didn't show the other side in the auction - or mention it.
Then ( ever the skeptic with all things SS ) I thought " bugger, someones slapped a fake decal onto it" .......... but then I took out the magnifying glass & set the camera on macro.....

Dan, what's the factory stamp on the helmet?

Cant read any size or maker sadly Mo - too rusty on the inside.

Looking at the photo it could? be a "Q" but unless it is sanded ( which I'm NOT doing ) I cant read it clearly

Damn, that would have helped.

I do not consider myself an expert but I will say that I am pretty sure that the shell is an ET, judging by the air vents. The decal also appears to be graphically correct for ET pattern runes. This is a very good sign.

That being said, I don't know why a member of the Danish resistance would keep SS runes on his helmet. I would wait for Doug's opinion but I am hopeful.

Another thing I will point out that I like is the fact that the wear seems consistent on the decal. I am guessing that it's good. Note how the scratches line up with the decal in the places that it should, like it has been there for a long time.
