M16 Black DD SS helmet

Article about: Since I can't think of anything else. I would guess there is some sort of symbolism involved. The swastika itself stands for Aryan cultural descent, and the red represents Germany. By taking

    I cant make out the stamp Im afraid. The 1943 linerband is indeed a mystery...and of concern as that is pretty late for a parade helmet to be refurbished but its not impossible. Is there any black paint around the edge of the liner band, on the chinstrap bales or edge of the liner? If you can post closeup pictures of the split pin heads and if you can the split pins themselves. Any signs of double bends?

    Your looks the same than the one I have.
    This is the only second one that I have seen with it.
    Sorry no info about it.
    The stamp is really hard to read.

    Hard to figure with a 43 dated liner for me it simply deepens the mystery but it looks period replaced as Kelly had mentioned on his site. Strange one! Would love to see it in hand one day!

    Yes really a mystery! Maybe if someone could recognise the stamp, it all would be clear but till now a mystery! Really great!

    Yes maybe if I go next year to the SOS or you come to Europe I would love to show it to you :-)
