Default M35 Double Decal SS Helmet

This helmet was a walk in at the Great Western Gun Show in Southern California nearly 30 years ago. It was veteran purchased by my fellow moderator Bob Hritz. He sold the helmet and it remained in the same collection for 25 years. It showed up at the SOS about five years ago. My friend who had a table by me had an opportunity to buy it and offered it to me. As I had searched for a double decal in this condition since I started collecting, it was a no brainer. The shell is stamped "ET64" with lot number 3804. The chin strap is dated 1937.

Hi Bob is the liner a reinforced aluminum or just aluminum and is it possible to make out the liner band date? The 37 dating on the helmet is good as this predates factory applied ET decals, all known SS that I am aware prior to this have the "Fat Runes" decal or were factory applied CA Pochers's or reissued CA Pochers, until ET started making their own decals presumably in late 37, or 38. Looks like an ET party decal. I know closeups aren't your forte Bob but would love some crispy images of the decals but no harm if you cant provide my friend.

It is a standard aluminum one. The draw string on the liner is quite tight and i am unable to make out a date. I have taken a try at better decal shots. I hope these work for you.

Thanks Bob, no worries on the liner band number, I would bet a wooden nickel its a 37 as well. Cheers
