M35 SS DD Relic - Fake?
Hi,
any opinions about this decal? It seems to be misplaced to me, too far to the left and not quite horizontal. The seller says it has a metallic finish. I know there is some specialists around here! Fake? I do not have a pic of the other side yet. Thanks for looking!

Badly alinged original decals are not unknown. Don't dismiss an item on that point alone.
However, I don't like the decal shown. The left hand rune appears to be bigger than the right.

Strange decal !! never seen one rune so obviously bigger than the other !!!
Can't see any metallic content either !! I'm not keen

Here is the other side. As this looks also quite skewed, maybe the different size of the runes could be due to camera lens distortion?

What are those traces of red paint doing around the air vent?
Two many questions are raised by this helmet for my liking.

The only thing distorted is the size of the left rune and i don't think it's a camera problem and Ades right the red paint around the vent is the same colour as the supposed decal , alarm bells are ringing louder !!

Actually, when I looked at this "decal" earlier I wondered if it were hand painted? Now go back and enlarge the pic of the runes. See what I mean? The whole thing is hand painted!

This type of insignia was never painted on.Decals were actually available in the field.
