See this pic for a more true look @ where the runes sit, Schwer.
Yes sorry I am a bit of a sceptic , I collect absolute certainties and give positive opinions only when I am certain myself :-)
Could be the damage on the break to the left gives off the impression that it is level instead of below it.
That's why a good sharp photo would help. (for me)
Here are two of my Q's.

For what it's worth, I bought Brian Ice's book on lot numbers, and this comes back with "M40 Q66 11453 SD SS ZSH SM" same lot # as this helmet
On top of the other thoughts validating that this helmet is good, should this solidify that?

These pics are all the same - blurry and not really
in focus, also taken indoors. Looks like the same
'camera' was used to take ALL the pics in this
thread. Beg, borrow or steal a good quality
digital camera. As the guys are saying,
better pics are essential.
I am by no means an expert on the subject of
decals, but if these are "the best I could do"
kind of pics, I'd wouldn't even bother
with this lid.........

Here are examples of a clear straight shot (and even these are not perfect)

The break looks to be at level with the runes so the runes are not Q runes.
So at best these are Pocher runes but I don't like the grainy look of the shield.
But as said the photos are not crisp.
A lotnumber alone will not authenticate your helmet , I have also two luftwaffe helmets listed under that lotnumber.

The runes do sit about 1mm below the break. In hand it's alot easier to see it, here's the best pic that represents that.

Despite the damage I am able to identify this one as a good Q pattern decal. That's the expected wear of a Q for me. My compliments.
