This is one I bought from Bill Shea 17 or 18 years ago, long before the web-site! We would hear on the grape vine that a new list was in the works, and had to wait for the Postman to deliver a paper catalogue! No pictures, just a description and a price! This one is complete with a steel banded liner, dark but still pliable leather, and a shortened chin strap. It is a subtle camo scheme, with mostly greens and reds. The EF decal took a few inopportune hits, but it is what it is. Anyway, I recall that it took about a week to arrive. When it did, I showed it to Al Barrows. To my surprise, and delight, he knew the helmet well - he had owned it in the 1970's! I still don't have the hang of taking pictures that do justice to these helmets, but anyway, here it is. Hope you like it. Jim G.

    I love it!

What stress there must have been waiting for a new catalog to arrive. Great helmet.

    Great helmet Jim.
I knew you had to have a camo SS helmet somewhere.
Always nice to have one that the decal has been apply over the camo.

Just saw this one on GHW2.
I really like the subtle camo paint on this one Jim.
Like I said over there, I can't imagine the suspense of ordering a helmet based
on a description alone, and then waiting patiently to see what arrives.
I am sure you were very pleased when you opened the box.

Hi Brad, That was part of the fun, like waiting for Christmas morning after having mailed your list to Santa a month before the big day! I got lucky on this one because Billy's list arrived at my house a day or 2 before it arrived at the home of one of my collector friends, who also called as soon as he saw it, but fortunately for me, too late. I guess in many instances timing is everything! Anyway, I'm glad you like it. Best regards, Jim G.

Love this one Jim , i also remember the days when all you got was a paper list with description on it then the lid was sent for perusal then people started producing a catologue with photos in it , really high tech !!

Hi Rene, Yes, it is a factory applied textbook EF decal, what's left of it that is. Jim G.
