M42 SS helmet for review

Hello guys,

I have found this very nice looking helmet. I would like to have some opinions about the authenticity of it.
Helmet has a nice patina and it looks like the decal is there for a long long time. Markings inside the helmet are NS64 and D283 on the back.
Tomorrow I shall be able to put better pictures in this thread. A friend of mine has a better camera then me.

Sorry mate I think this is a bad one. Decal, name and possibly liner leather are bad IMO. The paint could be OK but the repetitive wear on it would make me want a much closer look.

I'd have to agree, especially without clear photos of the decal. I don't care for the liner either. I'd pass bard on these photos.

Bad one, decals and name look bad, and liner is aged

Well, the metal inner liner band says 'D.R.P. 1943'. So I don't think the liner is aged but original...

That would be the outer liner band. It wouldn't surprise me if the band is original, but the leather itself looks strange to me. I'm 100% sure the decal is not right though, it does not match any decal from what I can see with the blurred pic. I checked the lot number in the GHW database and it came back as SD Heer. Do you already have the lid?
