Heres a nice example of a period removed decal (due to the new regulations at the time). A Q66 (side stamped) with the lot number 11571 and the sisters have already been located in other forums.
Heres a great example of a period removed SS decal due to the regulations at the time.
Note the left side has not even the hint of a decal ever being applied.
Heres a pic taken in doors with the flash on. Note the matching patina on the right side and tiny bits of remnants the decal presant.
