Ill admit I learned something from your explanation. You can lead a horse to water...blah blah blah.
Something tells me if the helmet were a real $45,000 SS LAH helmet there would be a bit more care and bit less sentimentality. Somehow the sheen of sentiment is lost on me in this thread.

In fact I'd bet a Kleenex used to wipe sentimental tears away this would be for sale to the highest bidder in a nanosecond.

I must be getting quite jaded in my elder years nearing 50...

Or it's simply a defense mechanism. Using sentimentality as a way to cope with the fact it's fake. Or as you said the usual MO and its for sale in a New York minute. And perhaps You are getting a tad bit short as you near Over The Hill

I am pissed off at the world right now to be honest. Not the reason why I am pissed off but on a side and getting hammered as collateral damage is I am quite sick of seeing the hobby trampled over for $$$$$ which normally doesn't illicit much of a passionate response but today I really don't give a crap to be frank.

When a guy really doesn't care if its real he doesn't ask. #tiredofthebullshit

Cheerio, off for the day before I get banned.

He is not a collector so he really has no reason to hang with us helmet nuts. And remember, he doesn't care. Unless it was real. Then the care factor would shoot up exponentially with value, I bet you a Snickers on that.
