Article about: Hi everyone,i have been offered this single decal SS helmet.I know the liner is a replacement but i am not sure about everything else.Before i spend any money i would appreciate any help on

    I'd be suspicious of the fact that the paint just happens to have been scratched off in the area of the decal...what a coincidence hey? I think the forger has painted the helmet, roughed it up whilst taking care to ensure the decal area is left clear of paint, applied a decal, roughed it up again then gone sucker hunting.

    Don't be that sucker...

    Agreed........., It would have been better to have left
    this helmet the way it was - no decal and no paint !

    Looks like whomever wrote the name on it didn't know what they were doing- the slash is in the wrong place; it separates the Kompanie number from the Regiment so should be '8/ JR 107'. That is a Heer unit of course, not an SS one, but I doubt it's even a wartime marking...
    Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...
