Looks to have been artificially aged/dyed to me, chinstrap is a repop too.

Value of a fake is a relative thing. To me they hold no value at all as I put them in the closet of shame. Some people do collect even fakes so they must have some value to some.
The helmet is a dug up "restored" helmet. I am 100% sure of that. Take it from a East Front digger

Absolutely and it's value is zero as a collectible in this form.
You would be better spending $25 on membership than anything on it, unless you really want a badly messed with relic in your collection.
I wonder how many more posts will be wasted on this, tempted to just close it now.

Hello again,
I will just show our member what i mean and give him a chance for learning something. I'm not doing out arrogance or anything like that. This helmet was so obvious it's a shame he does not know how to tell the difference. After all that's part of what the forum is about.

Dug up Falschirmjager helmet with indention's like on the "SS" Yes it's my finger
Dug up M35 with decal and paint(Pskov front) No paint in the dents. Paint can bubble up but not appear in the dents of course
Clean NOT dug M42. Danish vet helmet. No dent, holes and what not
