Looks like a repainted relic , fake paint , fake decals , sorry
The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )
1st July 1916
Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
The only good thing about this one is that its a genuine shell and liner band, the paint and decals are fake/repro as has already been said. Removing the paint and decals would probably be an improvement.
Thanks
Danny
Welcome to the forum alberta1,
Unfortunately this is not a good example. As Paul has just stated above, it is merely a relic helmet that has been repainted. Take some time and search some of the threads here on the forum, and you should be able to find plenty of good, original SS helmets for comparison.
Regards,
Carl
As others have said, it is merely a relic helmet that has been repainted in the not so distant past. The inside condition should have been a dead giveaway. As Tiger88 said there are plenty of good threads to read up on here on the forum. Another tip when your looking for a truly authentic SS helmet always go with someone you trust, there are far to many people out there that would like nothing better then to sell you an fake helmet. My best wishes in your search.
Oh god no.
Best Regards

Looking for militaria from HKB 31./977, HKB 32./977, HKB 38./977 or militaria related to Norway
A good displayable shell ruined.
How much did you pay for it? Not to rub it in or anything. Just curious.
Regards, Lars
Sorry, it's no good.
