Note the precision of the brush-strokes around the edges of the decal - the care and attention to detail as the white paint is applied to the helmet. Maybe years later, this helmet - if it survived the war, would be denounced by someone as having a fake winter cammo over paint...

That's a fake decal.....LOL. No, seriously, that's a great photo.
It is a good pic. I have had this photo for ages now. It appears to be a Q decal BTW.
Typically Harry the Mole, a helmet will have a fake decal as well as fake paint. I have never seen anyone ruin a real SS helmet by painting fake camo before. Although I wouldn't put it past some of the less brainy fakers out there.
