Re: Questionable SS M42 relic
Most of this guys helmets are fake. I almost bought a fake saurland helmet that looked very similar to this. Isn't he from Riga, Latvia with the user name of ssvoket or something?

Re: Questionable SS M42 relic
Looking like a very round bottom on that decal.

Re: Questionable SS M42 relic
I also saw this on eBay, if I remember correctly the guy never mentioned it was an SS helmet in his listing. He was just selling it as a regular relic shell.

Corey

Re: Questionable SS M42 relic
I agree. Looks like a round bottom type fake.
Can u try and get some close-up shots of the decal?

Re: Questionable SS M42 relic
It seems that a lot of fakes come to light on eBay, almost like a minefield.

More like a garbage dump.

Re: Questionable SS M42 relic
Thanks for the feedback, it looks like he reallly tries hard at making good fake , faded decals..of I hadn't read the forum and seen another helmet form the same seller I may have bid. Like CPG1066 said, he doesn't try and say its SS either adding to the deception. If Ihad a hundred bux I would buy ti just to have a close up of his handy-work! LOL!

Re: Questionable SS M42 relic
Maybe even a photo shop decal. Decal added to a relic helmet by getting a picture of someone elses decal.....
