    Hello Phill
    The decal appears to have a rounded bottom & when the first photo is enlarged there seem to be scratch/scour marks through
    the decal which do not appear natural.

    Gday Brett, i hadn't really noticed the round bottom, but i had seen the scratch marks but if you look at the air vent area it also looks a bit shiny.. i was thinking someone may have had a go at cleaning it?

    Yeah! I almost got one similar to this on ebay a few weeks back..it had a partial liner with a name written inside. $270!

    Hi, the more I look at it the more I'm convinced all is original and period. Nice one!.

    I wouldn't go near this SS helmet. Reich SS do you know that ET SS decals never, ever, ever have a rounded bottom nor break down in this fashion?
