yes i will take away a lot from this thanks for the info doug. but i dont think i would risk getting a ss helmet on my own just yet. 1 2 4 still where very good fakes, thats what scares me about ss helmets. but i got the police decal wrong i was 1 of the only 2 that voted on that one. but with you guys doing these decal quizs realy make you look at the finner details of helmet decals. and i still think gut feeling helps a bit to. cheers guys

Well im really pleased, in fact i'm chuffed, believe it or not I had very little knowledge of SS helmets and decals before joining the forum, although collecting for over 40yrs, but I have to thank Doug for all the knowledge he's passed down over the years re a very difficult subject. Photos of decals are always subject to various opinions which goes to prove that with the right education and detailed explanations someone can learn and make an informed opinion, I'm glad I stuck to my guns as after examining all the photos it was my first at a glance choice, subsequent retakes of them all confirmed my choice, Thanks Doug, thoroughly enjoyed this one

I recognized the 'crushed glass' fake, but that second one had me convinced. Good thing I spent my money on the real one. lol
