Default SS ET64 M40 #940. My First SS.

First time posting a helmet I actually own in this section. I just received my first SS helmet. A huge thanks to Todd for helping me grab this one, I could not have caught it without you mate

M40 ET64 #940. Possibly a corpse cut lid, as the liner leather is all gone and the strap is cut by the ear. The paint is pretty much all there and the decal is an awesome bronze/gold toned example of the ET factory runes. When I pulled it out of the box and looked at the decal for the first time I was in love Domestamp is just about legible.

An interesting thing to note, I have another M40 ET helmet at the moment, a Luftwaffe. On the side of the Luft helmet is a thick glob of paint the same as the one at the back of this SS under the rear pin. It seems at some point the chaps in Thale were suffering from chronic smeggy nozzles. Anyone else noticed this on an ET M40?

Hope you like it, I love the thing. I can see how some of you SS specialists out there can get addicted.

The decals a cracker, it makes the helmet! For a first one, this is an extremely nice piece to have, well done on you and Todd for getting it.
